Mona Mae ‘Memaw’ Dick

Mona Mae “Memaw” Dick, 88, Ore Hill, died Thursday morning at home.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Hattie Pollard. She married Michael H. Dick on May 19, 1951, and he died July 12, 1992.

Surviving are three daughters: Susanne Goff and husband, Stan, of Roaring Spring, Kathy Dodson and husband, Gary, of Roaring Spring and Julie Walter of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandchildren: Stan (Vicki), Shannon (Mark), Gary (Jill), Terri (Michael), Mike, Shad (Missie), Ryan (Tracey), Nichole (Brad), Scott (Stacey) and Brett (Ashley); and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Barry; and a son-in-law, Randy Walter.

Mona was a 1942 graduate of Morrison Cove High School. She was a member of Albright Church of the Brethren and also belonged to the Murray-Appleman American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Memaw was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nothing pleased her more than watching her family grow. She also enjoyed going places with her friends.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, by Pastor James Beach. Interment will follow in Albright Cemetery.
