Maureen K. Espigh

Maureen K. Espigh, 75, Altoona, entered into heavenly rest early Saturday morning at home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clarence E. and Marian I. (Amos) Shultzaberger.

Surviving are three children: Lucy A. Moryken and husband, John, of Hollidaysburg and their daughter, Sarah K.; Linda E. Hammaker and husband, Clark, of Middletown and their children, Garrett M. Hammaker and Kiersten R. Tracey and husband, Kevin, and their son, Ayden J.; and Jerome S. “Jerry” Espigh Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Midlothian, Va., and their children, Madeline L. and Jared S.; two brothers: Howard in Oklahoma and Charles in West Virginia; and a sister, Betty L. Lynch of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Robert.

Maureen retired from her position as a clerk/typist at Blair County Children and Youth Services. She attended Logan Valley Presbyterian Church, Bellwood. She delighted in spending time with her family, cooking special holiday meals and flower and vegetable gardening. She loved cats and enjoyed feeding the birds in her backyard.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, the Rev. Charles Curley officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society in memory of Maureen.
