Jack Lilly, 78, Cresson, died Tuesday at home.
He was born in Cresson, son of the late Leo G. and Helen M. (Brandt) Lilly. He married Phyllis Weiland on Aug. 11, 1956, in Loretto.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years; five daughters: Linda Long (Tim) of Littlestown, Cindy Trimarco (Tom) of Hollidaysburg, Jackie Dullinger (Joe) of Elizabethtown, Cheryl Torretti (Greg) of DuBois and Debbie Holsberger (Joe) of Cresson; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, William (Shirley Counsman) of Hendersonville, N.C.
Jack was a 1952 graduate of Cresson High School. He earned an Eagle Scout Medal and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, where he enjoyed helping with the maintenance of the church.
Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved gardening. He was a devoted husband and father, loved his grandchildren and taught them his trades.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Friday afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, the Very Rev. John D. Byrnes as celebrant. Committal will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by local military organizations.
