Police: City man threatened boy

Davis allegedly had a knife in each hand

An Altoona man faces charges after police say he threatened a boy with two knives.

Omedro T. Davis, 38, of 2117 Third Ave., was arrested Thursday morning at his home after the alleged incident that started when Davis and the boy’s mother got into an argument when Davis came home from work and the boy intervened.

According to charges filed by Altoona police, the juvenile told Davis to leave his mother alone, and they started to argue, with Davis allegedly grabbing a knife in each hand and threatening to kill the boy.

The juvenile armed himself with a baseball bat, and there was a standoff until police arrived shortly after 9 a.m. after the mother called police.

Davis told officers the juvenile threatened him with the bat and a stun gun, but police noted no stun gun was found in the house. Two knives were sitting on a countertop, and the bat was on the floor when officers arrived.

Davis was booked on misdemeanor charges of terrortistic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Davis was released on an unsecured $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Wednesday at Central Court for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Ben Jones.
