Board hires new principal
The Hollidaysburg Area School Board hired Lydia Dobrowolsky to be the junior high school’s new principal.
She is set to begin at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School this school year upon release from her current employer.
Her salary at Hollidaysburg Area was approved at $88,000 during the board’s meeting last week.
Dobrowolsky will fill a vacancy left by Robert Heinrich, who resigned in July to take a higher position at the Indiana School District.
SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP
Missing child found safe
A 4-year-old child has been found safe after being reported missing Thursday morning in Southampton Township, Bedford County, WJAC-TV said.
The boy, who is non-verbal and has autism, was reported missing about 9 a.m. and was found nearly three hours later in woods about a mile and a half away from his home near Bear Gap Trail, state police told the station.
Heat sensors used on a state police helicopter played a major role in finding the boy.
