County names acting chief in parole office
Former chief resigned June 28
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Amanda Moore, deputy chief of the Blair County adult parole and probation office, will serve as acting chief while the position remains vacant.
The county salary board agreed Thursday to a 5 percent increase in Moore’s salary, currently $50,901 annually, while she is acting chief, an appointment that became effective as of July 8.
Moore succeeds former chief Cory J. Seymore who submitted his resignation, effective June 28.
County leaders, so far, have offered little to no information in response to questions about the reasons behind Seymore’s resignation.
The county will be searching for a new adult parole and probation office chief, to be hired within a salary range of $57,000 to $62,000 annually, as approved Thursday by the county salary board. Seymore’s salary was $60,502 annually.
