Hospital offers health care planning info
HUNTINGDON — J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, along with other national, state and community organizations, are highlighting the importance of advance health care decision-making.
The hospital is providing information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and health care providers and to execute written advance directives (health care power of attorney and living will) in accordance with state laws. These resources are available at www.jcblair.org and www .nationalhealthcaredecisions day.org.
From 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, J.C. Blair’s Director of Palliative Care Dr. Margaret Hallahan is hosting a continental breakfast and panel discussion with attorney Ray Ghaner and Pastor Gene Tucker to provide different perspectives on the importance of advance health care planning and decision making at the J.C. Blair Education Center, 860 Bryan St. Free information about advance care planning and advance directive forms will be provided. Also Hallahan and J.C. Blair Case Manager Diane Yutzy will be sharing advance health care planning information and advance directive forms at the senior expo hosted by state Rep. Rich Irvin from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the Smithfield Fire Hall.
