Man arrested after police find drugs, cash in home
A search of a city home Wednesday allegedly turned up thousands of dollars in cash and heroin.
According the Blair County District Attorney’s Office, police arrested 33-year-old Ryan Michael Bare after Altoona police, state attorney general narcotics agents and the Blair County Drug Task Force showed up at Bare’s home at 110 Third Ave. with a search warrant about
4:30 p.m. and allegedly found 579 stamp bags of heroin, 3 grams of raw heroin, a gram of crack cocaine, a handgun and $2,669 in cash.
Police estimate the street value of the stamp bags of heroin at $5,790 with the raw, unpackaged heroin worth about $1,500.
The gun recovered is a Smith & Wesson 1911, and Bare is now charged with illegal possession of the gun along with felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
Bare remained in custody to await arraignment Wednesday night.
