Johnstown man jailed
A Johnstown man is in jail on numerous criminal charges for reportedly possessing meth making equipment in a truck pulled over by Jackson Township police for a traffic stop on Thursday.
Joseph David Sims, 33, of 187 Balsam St., faces charges of operating a methamphetamine lab, criminal conspiracy, risking catastrophe, possessing a precursor substance with intent to unlawfully manufacture and other related charges.
Police said they pulled over a black Dodge Ram, in which Sims was a passenger, traveling southbound along the 3700 block of William Penn Avenue because the vehicle had a gas nozzle attached to the gas tank and was dragging the hose along.
Sims is housed at the Cambria County Jail on a bail of 10 percent of $250,000.
