PSECU sponsors milk initiative

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, is again sponsoring the annual Fill a Glass with Hope initiative, a collaboration between Feeding Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, the American Dairy Association North East, agriculture partners and business leaders that provides eight glasses of fresh milk to families in need for each $1 donation received.

By contributing $5,000 to the cause, PSECU will provide up to 40,000 servings of milk to those experiencing hunger in local communities.

“Supporting the needs of Pennsylvanians is important to us at PSECU, and we believe that goes beyond providing the high-quality banking products and services that our members have grown to know and trust,” said PSECU President Greg Smith in a statement.

“The Fill a Glass with Hope initiative helps address a major issue in our community — food insecurity — and we are honored to come together with partner organizations to make a difference. We’re fighting hunger together,” Smith said.

The 2019 Fill a Glass with Hope initiative is under way at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. For the duration of the show, donations are being accepted at the PA Dairymen’s Association booth in the Giant Expo Hall Food Court.

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, which PSECU also supports financially, is a direct beneficiary of the funds raised through this initiative, deploying the resources throughout its 27-county service area.
