Duncansville man faces assault charges
A Duncansville man is in jail on charges he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.
Michael D. Lastra, 48, is accused of molesting the girl on multiple occasions in 2017 and 2018 when she was 13 and 14 years old, according to charges filed by state police at Hollidaysburg.
According to the charges, state police were notified in August of the suspected sexual assault, and in the course of the investigation, the girl allegedly revealed Lastra fondled her and forced her to perform oral sex on him.
Police indicated that the girl said Lastra told her if she told on him, he would go to jail.
Police said the case came to light after Lastra allegedly called the girl’s father and admitted to touching her inappropriately.
Lastra allegedly denied he had sex with the girl when the father asked him.
Lastra is now charged with multiple counts of felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault along with one count each of felony unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent assault.
Lastra’s bail was set at $100,000 cash by Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner, and he was lodged in Blair County Prison with a preliminary hearing slated for Jan. 15.
