A record breaking 435 market animals from across the Keystone State were sold at the annual junior livestock sale at the 2019 Pennsylvania Farm Show.

The grand champion market lamb, exhibited by Emily Valentine, Clearville, was purchased by Bedford Ford and Bedford Chrysler for $4,200.

The reserve grand champion market lamb, exhibited by Callie Taylor, Timblin, Armstrong County, was purchased by Hoss’s Steak & Sea House for $3,700.

The inaugural supreme champion showman, Heidi Barkley of Manns Choice, sold her market lamb to John Rock Inc. for $2,400.

Alleged animal cruelty case probed

State police are investigating an alleged animal cruelty incident at a horse farm on East Maddie Road in East Providence Township on Dec. 11, according to a public information release report. The investigation is ongoing with the cooperation of the property owner.
