Cambria County youth recognized in poster contest

Cody Sral who participates in the American Legion (Cambria) County Fair, captured third-place honors in the 15-18 age group in the poster contest at the 103rd Pennsylvania Farm Show’s Know Your Farmer exhibit.

The theme of the 2018 fair poster contest was “Strength in Our Diversity.” Contestants were asked to submit artwork that showcases and celebrates the people, products, production practices and traditions of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry.

Bedford County youth wins in goat showmanship

Owen Lankey of Everett captured a blue ribbon in Class I of the breeding meat goat showmanship show at the 103rd Pennsylvania Farm Show.

Lankey also showed the supreme champion doe, reserve grand champion percentage doe, junior champion purebred/fullblood doe, yearling champion purebred/fullblood doe, and grand champion purebred/fullblood doe.

Alyssa Lankey of Everett showed the yearling reserve champion percentage doe.

Huntingdon County youths place in sheep show

Mikara Anderson of Three Springs showed the champion ram, reserve champion ram, champion ewe and reserve champion ewe in the natural colored category of the the junior breeding sheep show at the 2019 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

She also showed the reserve champion ram, champion ewe and reserve champion ewe in the Hampshire category.

Anderson also captured the showmanship award in Class I, while Sheridan McGargle of Alexandria captured the showmanship award in Class IV.
