Officials to release identity of victim after DNA?testing

The identity of a man who died Thursday in a fire in Buffalo Mills is still unknown.
A call came in to emergency services at 1:12 p.m. for the fire at 324 Shomo Road, according to Bedford County 911 Coordinator Harry Corley Jr.
Coroner Russell Styer was called to the scene of the house fire at 2:20 p.m. Thursday. Styer said Friday the victim was a male who died from thermal injuries and smoke inhalation. He ruled the victim’s death as accidental.
The identity of the victim will be released as soon as DNA testing is completed. The coroner said he expects test results back as early as the middle of next week.
Numerous fire companies and ambulances responded, including fire companies from Shawnee Valley, Everett, New Baltimore, Bedford, Hyndman, Alum Bank and Berlin.
Ambulances from Shawnee Valley and Bedford also responded.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, Corley said.
