Thanksgiving dinners offered

The following churches are offering free Thanksgiving dinners:

– Champion Life Church will host a citywide Thanksgiving dinner in celebration of the holiday. The free meal will be served at 1 p.m. today (Thanksgiving Day) at the church, 1314 12th St. The church is across from City Hall. The menu includes turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, desserts and refreshments.

– Abundant Life Assembly Family of God is offering a free community Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 3 p.m. today at the church, 231 Howard Ave.

The meal will feature five different types of turkey and seven types of chicken, as well as all of the fixings. No reservations are required. Shut-ins can call 935-5870 to have a meal delivered.

– St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 806 13th St., will serve a community Thanksgiving Day dinner from noon to 4 p.m. today. Everyone is welcome. Take-out meals will be available. For more information, call the church office at 942-1372.
