Purported threat spurs AAHS search
From Mirror staff reports
The Altoona Area School District reported that no items of concern were found using metal detectors and bag searches of high school students in response to a purported threat Thursday.
The district said a threat made between two high school students was reported to district’s police services. In response to the report and following the safety protocol, high school students were subject to metal detector and bag searches upon arrival Thursday morning.
Students were released to their homeroom with a 10-minute delay to the normal school schedule, the district wrote.
Students are encouraged to report any safety concerns to teachers, principals or school district police.
