Police: Everett man assaulted 2 children

An Everett man

faces numerous criminal charges for the alleged sexual abuse of two children.

Joshua Robert Porter, 31, of 643 N. Spring St., is charged with rape of child, sexual assault, two counts of aggravated indecent assault, 24 counts of indecent assault, 25 counts of corruption of minors, a related charge and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and indecent exposure.

The two female victims reportedly accused Porter of having them dress up in “grown-up clothes” and sexually abusing them, according to a police complaint.

One of the victims allegedly told police she had been sexually assaulted by the defendant multiple times for a long time. She said it occurred in multiple jurisdictions.

Police were called about the reported sexual abuse Aug. 5 when one of the victims suspected Porter was sexually assaulting her sister in a bedroom.

The defendant admitted in an interview Aug. 13 to having the victims “model” in adult clothes, including his wife’s lingerie, and sexually abusing them, states the criminal complaint.

Porter also reportedly admitted to sexually penetrating one of the victims multiple times over a year and once with the other victim.

His preliminary hearing is 9 a.m. today at the Bedford County Central Court.

Porter was arraigned Aug. 13 by Magisterial District Judge Kathy Calhoun. He is housed at the Bedford County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
