Man charged in assault of 6-year-old girl

HOUTZDALE — An area man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl has been charged with felony aggravated indecent assault.

Kenneth Henry Stover, 56, currently an inmate of the Clearfield County Jail, is also charged with felony corruption of minors and a misdemeanor count of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old. The charges were filed Friday by state police in Magisterial District Judge James Glass’s office in Houtzdale.

The charges stem from an incident on June 28 in Gulich Township, Clearfield County.

Stover allegedly touched the girl’s private area three times while he was visiting in her home and made her put her hand on his penis, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

He reportedly admitted to police that he touched the girl inside her underwear.

Stover’s preliminary hearing is set for July 25 during centralized court at the county jail.
