Water treatment plant reviewed
Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday gave a positive review to plans for a water treatment plant improvement project in the Williamsburg area.
The Williamsburg Municipal Authority plans to construct a 612-square-foot water treatment facility at the site of the existing well field along Briarwood Lane.
Additionally, two small booster pump stations will be installed at sites located along Ridge and Piney Creek roads.
Because the sites are located within the Canoe Creek Watershed Important Mammal Area, the developer should adhere to seasonal tree-cutting requirements to protect the local bat population, said Jamie L. Klink, community planner.
