Route 764 tree trimming to start

Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College will begin work Monday on the Route 22/Route 764 roadway preservation project in Duncansville and Allegheny Township, PennDOT said.

On Monday, the contractor will begin tree trimming and removal operations along the 2.2-mile section between the Veeder Root entrance and the Duncansville intersection. Traffic will be controlled through single lane, daylight closures with flaggers.

Overall work on the project consists of tree trimming, pavement preservation, which includes concrete pavement patching, bituminous overlay, structure repairs, drainage improvements, guardrail up-grades, intersection signal upgrades and new pavement markings. Rehabilitation work will begin in April.

Work on this $3.6 million project is expected to be completed by mid-November.
