Blair flu cases down

Huntingdon’s numbers rise

One could say Bedford’s loss is Huntingdon’s gain, but the reaction in both counties may not show it.

Bedford County only reported four new flu cases last week, down eight from 12 the previous week.

But Huntingdon County saw its number rise by six from 49 the week ending March 3 to 55 last week, figures from the state Department of Health show.

Blair showed the biggest drop of area counties going down nearly 50 percent from 108 new cases the week ending March 3 to 58 new lab-confirmed cases last week.

Cambria County at 117 new flu cases had 32 fewer than the week prior. Centre’s weekly total fell by 11 to 89 last week. And Clearfield County’s new flu cases fell to 60, a decline of 13 from the week prior.

Statewide Pennsylvania reported 19 flu-related deaths for the week.
