Housing coalitions plan symposium

Housing coalitions from Bedford, Fulton and Huntingdon counties will host a housing symposium on April 12 at the Forbes Road Conference Center located in the Holiday Inn Express in Breezewood.

There will be a morning speed networking session from 8:30 a.m. to noon and an afternoon presentation about drug use in a home from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The event is free, and lunch is not provided. People can register for the event by sending an email to stice@ccaofpa.org.

Keller Engineers for trail work

The Bedford Joint Municipal Authority has tentatively selected Keller Engineers to help construct the north extension of the Bedford Heritage Trail from Fort Bedford Park to Old Bedford Village and Friendship Village.

The engineering firm will prepare the construction design documents, drawings and permits for the extension. The process is expected to last at least 12 months. Keller Engineers encourages affected property owners and other members of the public to offer their input regarding construction.

Pa. planning sessions scheduled

The Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute will host sessions on community planning from 6 to 9:30 p.m. April 18, 23 and 25 at the Bailey Building in Huntingdon.

This three-session course is designed for planning commissioners and local officials to help them carry out their responsibilities under the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.

It costs $50 to attend, and payments can be made to Huntingdon County Planning and Development Department.
