Mahaffey woman charged in death
Lee accused of stabbing, killing man
A Mahaffey woman is charged in the stabbing death of a 58-year-old man.
Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced Monday afternoon that charges have been filed against Kayce Marie Lee, 31, of Ridge Road, Mahaffey.
State police are charging Lee with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Punxsutawney State Police Trooper Seth Rupp states that at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, police received a call reporting the victim, Richard Allen Bennett, 58, also of Ridge Road, as missing since 1 a.m. when he fled his residence following an altercation with Lee.
It was also reported that Lee believed she may have stabbed Bennett. At 11:43 p.m. on the same day, officers discovered Bennett lying face down about 30 feet from the residence. Bennett was wearing only white brief-style underwear and a long sleeve thermal shirt. Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene by Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer.
Lee is being arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Glass. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14. Lee is being held in the Clearfield County Jail without bond.
