Woman accused of child endangerment

A 28-year-old woman who state police say overdosed while baby-sitting a child now faces charges.

According to state police at Huntingdon, just before 1 p.m. Jan. 31 in Three Springs Borough, a 28-year-old Coatesville woman overdosed in an apartment on Ashman Street while the woman, who was not named, was baby-sitting a 7-year-old boy.

Bystanders were able to summon help, and once revived, the accused woman ran off, police said. She was eventually found and taken to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon for treatment.

Police said the woman left drug paraphernalia in reach of the child. She now faces charges that include endangering the welfare of a child.

Candidate delays announcement

Due to weather concerns, Republican Jim Gregory has postponed his formal candidate announcement for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives 80th Legislative district until noon Saturday at the Duncansville VFW. Rep. Judy Ward, R-Hollidays­burg, currently holds the seat.
