Try the Y for free

The Hollidaysburg Area YMCA is offering area residents to try the Y for free this week between Monday and Saturday.

Guests will have an opportunity to sample dozens of classes for all fitness levels, as well as aquatic exercise classes including aqua zumba, hydro-base, hydro-yoga and more.

Visitors can also participate in open gym and open swim and meet the staff.

MLK convocation planned

Keith Boykin, a CNBC contributor, BET columnist and New York Times bestselling author, will speak at Juniata College’s 26th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation at 4 p.m. Jan. 22 in the Rosenberger Auditorium at the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts.

Boykin’s speech — “This Is Your Future, What Will You Do With It?” — will address the impact that an individual can make through a better understanding of themselves, their intersectionality and the privilege that they wield in the worlds in which they live.

Boykin is the founder and first board president of the National Black Justice Coalition.
