Police: Woman found with narcotics

An Altoona woman is in jail after police allegedly found cocaine and methamphetamines in her home.

Teresa M. Keller, 44, of 2402 Fifth Ave. was arrested Thursday afternoon at her home after a search by Altoona police.

According to police, officers arrived at the home about 4:45 p.m. Thursday with a search warrant, and when asked if there were drugs in the home, Keller allegedly said police would find drugs in a black bag on her bed. Keller claimed she found the bag outside.

Inside the bag was suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, police said.

A Crystal Light container holding 28 grams — equal to one ounce — of cocaine allegedly was found in the home, along with a bag of methamphetamine weighing 21 grams. Police said the cocaine was broken down into six packages.

Police also found empty and unused plastic sandwich bags, a cellphone, $554 in cash and Western Union receipts in the home.

A .22-caliber revolver and a holster also were seized, and police reported finding another 3 grams of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia, including a glass pipe, a syringe and digital scales. Several Suboxone strips also were taken from the home.

Keller now faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges and remains in Blair County Prison, her bail set at 10 percent of $40,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at Central Court.
