Commission not satisfied with storage unit plans

Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday were not satisfied with plans submitted for a pair of storage unit buildings proposed along Mill Run Road.

V&J Storage Units plans to construct two storage unit buildings totaling 1,120- square feet (70 units) and 1,248-square feet (78 units), respectively, at the site of the former Classic Attitudes building that was destroyed by fire in September 2016.

The proposal also includes a subdivision plan showing resulting lot sizes of 10.104, 0.398 and 0.561 acres, but it is not clear where the proposed subdivision will occur and no existing lot lines are shown, said Jamie L. Klink, community planner. The submission does not include information about driveway widths, landscaping, lighting or peak vehicle trip estimates.

“My only comment is they didn’t provide us with adequate information,” commission member Randy Isenberg said. “What they may be doing may be perfectly fine, but they are not giving us enough information.”

Commission members will ask the developer to re-submit plans both to Logan Township and the planning commission.
