City man pleads to child pornography charges
Police: Miller admitted to downloading porn
HOLLIDAYSBURG — An Altoona man arrested in December on child pornography charges entered guilty pleas Friday in Blair County court.
Jason F. Miller, 43, presented the pleas to three counts of possession of child pornography, second-degree felonies, in exchange for the state Attorney General’s Office dropping other charges including dissemination of child pornography.
Judge Wade Kagarise accepted the plea and ordered a pre-sentence investigation to be completed by a state parole and probation officer. Deputy Attorney General Christopher Jones also asked that Miller undergo an evaluation by the state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.
Both reports are to be completed in about three months so Miller’s sentence can be scheduled thereafter.
In charges filed against Miller, agents with Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit indicated that discovery of a video of two prepubescent girls in sexual poses led them to Miller. After securing a search warrant, the agents showed up at Miller’s residence. There, they reported finding four child pornography videos on Miller’s computer, including the video that led them to Miller.
According to the charges, Miller admitted to downloading and viewing child pornography for 10 years.
Miller has remained free on bail since his arrest.
