McGinnis, Eichelberger set town halls

A local state senator and state representative are planning town halls for Monday in Altoona.

State Rep. John McGinnis, R-Altoona, will have a town hall meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the theater on the lower level of the Altoona Area Public Library, 1600 Fifth Ave.

The meeting is open to residents of the 79th Legislative District, which include Altoona and Logan Township.

State Sen. John H. Eichelberger Jr., R-Blair, will conduct a town hall from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Central Blair Senior Center, 1320 12th Ave. The informal forum is open to 30th District residents. Proof of residency is required for entry.

SIX MILE RUN

Hopewell Bridge plans to be presented

PennDOT will conduct an open house and plans display on the Hopewell Bridge and Intersection Improvement Project, located in Hopewell Borough, Broad Top and Hopewell townships.

The bridge carrying Front Street over the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River will be replaced, and the intersection of Raystown Road at the north end of the bridge will be improved. The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Company, 1064 Six Mile Run Road, Six Mile Run.
