City man missing after fishing trip

HOLLIDAYSBURG — A 70-year-old Altoona man has been missing since Friday night when he failed to show up for an arranged ride, state police at Hollidaysburg said Saturday.

John Paul Prunkard, who had gone camping and fishing for several days in the Frankstown area, summoned a ride Friday night due to the rainfall, state police said, then failed to meet the ride.

Prunkard’s belongings, police said, were found in a pile along the parking area near the Frankstown bridge at Reservoir Road where he was supposed to be picked up. Police also reported Prunkard was last seen using the telephone while waiting nearby in the parking lot of Nic’s Grab ‘n Go.

Prunkard is approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt and eyeglasses.
