City man pleads guilty to drug charges

HOLLIDAYSBURG — An Altoona man has been sentenced to 5.5 to 20 years in prison on charges linked to heroin and cocaine sales last year in Altoona.

Lynorris “Nas” Wilson, 35, who was scheduled for a three-day jury trial next week in Blair County Court, entered guilty pleas Friday to multiple counts of possession with intent to deliver and criminal conspiracy.

Judge Daniel Milliron accepted the pleas and imposed the recommended sentence, along with fines adding up to $12,000.

Had Wilson been convicted on all charges, he could have been facing a minimum of 18 years’ incarceration based on the standard range of the state sentencing guidelines, his attorney Robert Donaldson said.

The plea also calls for Wilson’s sentence to run concurrently with a two- to four-year sentence handed down last year in Centre County on an aggravated assault charge.

Assistant District Attorney Pete Weeks said he was satisfied with the negotiated plea based on the minimum incarceration time and the potential 20-year maximum.

“That is going to put him under the (state) parole and probation for up to two decades, which is what he seems to need based on his prior history,” Weeks said.

Wilson’s criminal history dates back at least a decade, when he was sentenced in Blair County Court for two cocaine sales in 2006, as charged by Altoona police. He served a one- to two-year sentence on those charges.

He subsequently faced additional drug-selling charges, with the latest ones filed last year by Altoona police, accusing him of multiple sales between July and September.

Wilson, who has been in Blair County Prison since his Sept. 12 arrest, is to be credited for time served and at Milliron’s direction, transferred as soon as possible to the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill.

Based on a prior conviction, Wilson is ineligible for early release through the state’s Recidivism Risk Reduction Initiative, Weeks said.
