Woman’s death under investigation
Cambria County officials are investigating the death of a 39-year-old woman after her 9-year-old daughter found her dead Tuesday morning at a Cresson Borough home.
The girl found her mother shortly after 7 a.m. and sought out a neighbor, who contacted emergency responders, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the home along Cathedral Avenue by Chief Deputy Coroner Joe Hribar, Lees said.
An autopsy was inconclusive in determining the cause of death, Lees said, explaining a toxicology test will be conducted. It may take up to six to eight weeks before results are confirmed.
The deceased woman’s name is being withheld out of respect for her family, Lees said.
