NCambria police chief reinstated
A Cambria County police chief who was suspended last week was reinstated Monday by Northern Cambria Borough Council members.
Northern Cambria Police Chief Jeffrey Kopsic was reinstated following a unanimous vote by council members, numerous media outlets reported. Council members did not provide any details about what circumstances led to their vote.
Kopsic was suspended April 18, and no reason for the suspension was given at that time.
Earlier this week, Kopsic told reporters he plans to file a lawsuit against the borough’s mayor, Carol Jarvis.
Kopsic was suspended as Cresson’s police chief in December 2013 and was ultimately fired. A settlement over his termination was reached in 2014 between Kopsic and the borough, although specifics were not made public and no reason for his firing was ever given, the Mirror previously reported.
