Man, 21, facing child porn charges

A 21-year-old Altoona man who told police he took nude photographs of his former 17-year-old girlfriend has been charged with child pornography and corruption of minors.

Dustin Christopher McCaulley, 508 S. 12th St., was also charged Saturday with loitering and prowling, marijuana possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Altoona police initially found McCaulley sitting in a vehicle on the 1200 block of 19th Street when they went to the neighborhood to investigate a report that McCaulley was throwing snowballs at the bedroom window of his former girlfriend’s residence.

While enroute to the neighborhood, police learned of an earlier call referencing nude photographs on McCaulley’s phone.

Upon finding McCaulley in the car, police said McCaulley admitted to having marijuana and permitted police to remove a purple Crown Royal bag from the vehicle’s glove compartment. Inside, police found a plastic bag containing six smaller bags of marijuana. Officers also found a digital scale, a marijuana pipe, a black metal grinder and a pill bottle with ground marijuana.

During an interview with police officers, McCaulley acknowledged that his cellphone contained nude photographs of the former girlfriend and that he knew that she was only 17 years old. Police found four nude photographs of the former girlfriend, one with “Daddy’s Girl” written on it.

McCaulley also admitted to officers that he threatened to post those photographs on the internet but did not follow through.

Police also found cellphone photographs showing McCaulley holding large amounts of cash.

Online court documents indicate that McCaulley remained in the Blair County Prison on Saturday, with bail set at $25,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 29 in front of Magisterial District Judge Todd Kelly.
