Tyrone women accused of stealing car

Police: Pair took keys from man

Two Tyrone women face charges after police say they stole a car.

Jessica A. Albright, 37, of 273 Hickory Drive and Christina Moore, 36, of 419 Garfield St. are accused of stealing a car Tuesday night from Tyrone Borough after taking the keys from a man’s pants pockets.

According to Tyrone police, the victim told police when he came home from work about

9 p.m., the pair were at an apartment on the 300 block of West 15th Street. Albright came into his bedroom where the man was watching television and told him she was looking for a sports bra. Police said Albright’s bag was sitting on the floor next to the man’s pants.

Tyrone police were called to the apartment for a noise complaint at 10 p.m., and it was not long after that the man discovered the keys to his car were missing. The man looked outside and noticed his car was stolen, police said.

A warrant was issued for the pair’s arrest, and Altoona police took Albright and Moore into custody Wednesday on the 600 block of Pleasant Valley Boulevard. They were taken before Magisterial District Judge Todd Kelly for arraignment on felony theft and receiving stolen property charges filed by Tyrone police.

Bail was set for Albright at 10 percent of $20,000, and she was taken to Blair County Prison to await her preliminary hearing. Moore was released on an unsecured $20,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled for March 14 in Tyrone District Court.
