Three arrested in double homicide in Indiana County

Police say incident in Indiana County started as robbery

Three males are in custody in connection with a double homicide early Thursday morning in Clymer, Indiana County, according to press reports.

The Indiana Gazette identified the suspects as Justin Stevenson, 19, Isaiah Russell-Scott, 17, and Nathan Price, 18. Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said Stevenson was taken into custody in Indiana Borough, and Price and Russell-Scott were taken into custody at their homes.

Dougherty did not provide addresses for the suspects, the Gazette reported.

Responding to a report of a disturbance about 4 a.m. Thursday at 903 Hillside Drive, just outside of Clymer, state troopers found the bodies of a 26-year-old man and 20-year-old woman.

Two children were in the residence at the time but were unhurt. They were placed into the care of Indiana County Children and Youth Services, the Gazette said.

The Gazette said family members of the victims present during a Thursday afternoon media briefing identified the victims as Timothy Gardner and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Brink.

Timothy Gardner’s father, Kenneth Gardner of Black Lick, told the Gazette the two children were Timothy’s.

Gardner, who said he adopted Timothy at birth, said his son joined the Marines but had had an accident at Parris Island.

He described him as “rough growing up,” but also a caring person. He said the two were living together and had been dating for about 6 months.

Authorities believe the incident started as a robbery and that a safe was taken.

Charges were expected to be filed sometime Thursday at Clymer District Court, the Gazette said.
