Altoona man charged with posting naked images of estranged wife
An Altoona man who state police said posted naked pictures of his estranged wife on the internet has been charged.
Andrew A. Taylor, 38, of Altoona has been charged by state police with one count of misdemeanor unlawful dissemination of an intimate image for allegedly posting the naked photographs on Facebook on Oct. 11 after his estranged wife obtained a protection-from-abuse order against Taylor.
State police allege Taylor also called his estranged wife after he was served with the order and told her he was going to ruin her life and kill himself. Police said a trooper arrived at Taylor’s estranged wife’s residence while he was on the phone and that Taylor, who was at a rehabilitation center in Coalport at the time, quit speaking once she put the officer on the phone and he identified himself as a state trooper. Taylor allegedly called his estranged wife again after he was committed to UPMC Altoona for a mental evaluation, police noted.
Police: Man took money sitting on counter at convenience store
A Bellwood man faces charges after police say he pocketed money that was sitting on a convenience store counter.
Robert G. DeArmitt Jr., 52, was charged this week with a single count of misdemeanor theft stemming from the morning of Sept. 4 when DeArmitt allegedly stole a $50 bill another customer at Martin’s General Store in Bellwood had placed on the counter.
It was at 11:30 a.m. when a customer put the $50 down and walked to the end of the counter to pick out the lottery tickets he wanted to buy, according to state police. When the customer walked back, the $50 was gone.
Police said DeArmitt walked up, set a bottle of iced tea on the counter and took the bill.
Police said surveillance footage showed DeArmitt put the $50 in his left pocket. DeArmitt was charged by summons and is due to appear at Tyrone District Court on Nov. 29 for a preliminary hearing.
