Altoona robbery suspect taken into custody
EBENSBURG – An Altoona man was taken into custody Saturday after a warrant was issued for his arrest last week on felony robbery and other charges.
Scott Allen Borgess, 28, was identified by Altoona police as the suspect in the robbery of an elderly woman last week on the 1200 block of 12th Avenue. Police said he stole a bag from the woman containing her diabetes medication after walking her home.
After the warrant was issued, Ebensburg state police received a report that Borgess was staying at a home on Troxell Spring Road in White Township, Cambria County.
Police said they took Borgess into custody about
2 p.m. Saturday at that location, and a pill bottle was found in his possession.
The owner of the pill bottle, who police said was watching when Borgess was taken into custody, confirmed that the pills belonged to her and that Borgess took them from inside her home without permission.
