Altoona police

– Jason Bittner, 617 N. Second St., was charged Thursday with driving under the influence at 25th Street and Sixth Avenue.

– Brian Schloski, 40, 514 Sixth Ave., Apt. 2, was arrested Thursday on an Altoona Police Department warrant at his residence.

– Kelly L. Miller, 514 Sixth Ave., was charged Thursday with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness on the 500 block of Sixth Avenue.

Huntingdon state police

– A Burnt Cabins man told police someone broke into his detached garage between Nov. 3 and Wednesday and stole tools. The man said he lost a Craftsman toolbox, an 18-volt Sears hammer drill and a Bostitch nail gun, among other tools. Police said the man left his garage unlocked.

– Police said a speeding driver was responsible for a Tuesday morning accident along Shavers Creek Road in Logan Township, Huntingdon.

According to state police, Blake Jones, 29, Petersburg, went off the road and into a ditch when he tried to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of him, which had slowed down to make a right turn.

Police said Jones veered onto the road’s right shoulder before striking a ditch, then flipping over and striking the car he had initially tried to avoid.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and neither was injured, police said. Jones was charged for failing to drive at a safe speed.

– A 17-year-old girl told police that an unidentified man, driving a dark-colored pickup truck, attempted to force her into his truck about

6 p.m. Friday at a location along Potter Creek Road in Bloomfield Township, near New Enterprise. The girl said she fled on foot and the driver fled, traveling south on Potter Creek Road.

– Approximately 950 feet of copper telephone wire from poles along Winters Road in Hopewell Township was reported stolen from June through October. The owner, Century Link, reported a loss of $2,100.

Hollidaysburg state police

– Several orange traffic cones were damaged Friday in front of a Circle Drive residence in Frankstown Township.

– A bicycle was found Friday along Lone Pine Lane, off Sickles Corner Back Road in Tyrone Township. Anyone who has lost a bicycle should contact state police at 696-6100.

– Zachary Tyler Claar, 25, Claysburg, was charged with harassment after accused of striking and pushing an unidentified person on Wednesday at a residence on Grandview Road in Antis Township.

– Joshua Hilderbrand, 33, Johnstown, is facing simple assault and related charges after a Nov. 9 domestic dispute in Nanty Glo where he reportedly choked a woman until she became unconscious. Hilderbrand is also wanted in Cumberland County on unrelated charges.

Huntingdon state police

– Vandals used eggs, Silly String and garbage on Nov. 2 to damage the front porch of a Hoovers Hill Road residence in Henderson Township.

– A 15-year-old juvenile is accused of threatening a Mount Union High School faculty member on Oct. 15 at the Huntingdon Career and Technology Center, Brady Township.

– Gunnar Miller, 22, Huntingdon, is accused of fleeing police, driving under the influence and numerous traffic violations after trying on Nov. 9 to flee police while traveling on Route 655 from Brady Township to Hooley’s Lane in Mifflin County. After running over tire-disabling devices set up by police, Miller was taken into custody.

– Corn and soybean crops were damaged between Oct. 21 and Nov. 1 at a Warriors Mark Township farm along Ridge Road.

– Two 25-year-old women, one from Altoona and one from Kittanning, are suspects in a theft by deception case involving two Indiana County women who reported a loss of $865 in July. The theft involves use of a banking machine.

Rockview state police

– James McCaslin, 31, Bellefonte, was charged Nov. 10 with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being found with marijuana and a pipe in the parking lot of the state prison in Benner Township.

Tyrone borough police

– A metal wheelchair ramp was reported stolen Thursday from the porch of a residence on the 300 block of West 21st Street. Anyone with information should contact police at 684-1365.

– Twelve spikes were removed from railroad ties in a wooded area off Brumbaugh Road, Taylor Township, Nov. 5-7. The rail line is owned by the Everett Railroad Co. of Duncansville.

– A door was damaged on a storage unit along Route 4027 in Snyder Township Nov. 4-6. The storage unit was owned by University Park Plaza Corp., State College.

Destiny Nicole Hilton, described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with long red hair and blue eyes, is missing from her home along Route 22 in the area of Canoe Creek. She is known to frequent Altoona. Anyone with information about Hilton’s whereabouts is asked to call state police at 696-6100.

— A postal package containing a new pair of brown leather boots that was left on the front porch of a home on Route 4027 near Cold Springs Road in Snyder Township on Thursday between 9:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. was stolen.

— A home on the 600 block of Duganne Lane in Blair Township was burglarized Oct. 22, and a wallet was stolen.
