Tyrone to vote on new hires
TYRONE – The Tyrone Area School Board is set to approve several new hires during its regular session Tuesday.
The board discussed the new teachers and support staff at its work session Tuesday night. If approved next week, Amy Lewis of Tyrone will begin as an elementary school teacher on Aug. 21.
Her salary will be $41,280 with full benefits.
The board is also set to approve the hiring of a long-term substitute for the sixth grade. If approved, Jenna Wray of Tyrone will serve in the position for the entire 2014-2015 school year at the pay of $41,280 and full benefits.
The district is also looking to hire a new art teacher, but the possible hire was not named at Tuesday’s meeting. Superintendent Cathy Harlow said the prospective employee will be put forth next week.
The board is also set to increase the hours of several paraprofessional staff members.
The school board will meet Tuesday to vote on these hires.
