Police: Woman sold meth to undercover officer

An Altoona woman is in jail on charges she sold methamphetamine to an undercover cop.

Altoona police took Kelli L. Snyder, 27, of 327 Bell Ave. into custody Monday at her home on two warrants stemming from alleged meth sales in May and June, according to police.

Police said Snyder dealt directly with an undercover officer when she sold $100 worth of meth May 9 and again June 10. According to the affidavit of probable cause, a confidential informant connected police with Snyder, and she told the undercover cop she didn’t want to deal with the informant but would deal with the officer directly.

The officer met Snyder at a convenience store the afternoon of May 9, and she told the officer she had to get the meth from her source, but first she needed $10 in gas money. Police said the officer gave Snyder the $10 and even pumped the gas for her before she left. She was given $100 for the meth.

Police said Snyder picked up the meth and met the officer on Chestnut Avenue. Police said Snyder had the drug stuffed in a cigarette pack on the passenger door armrest when she met up with the officer and told him, “Be careful with that; it’s fire.”

Snyder allegedly asked the undercover officer if he was a cop several times, including a text after the alleged deal.

Police said Snyder again sold the undercover officer $150 worth of meth the afternoon of June 10. In that alleged sale, Snyder was picked up by the officer and left her purse with him while she picked up the meth from her source.

After the deal, Snyder was taken into custody and allegedly had a small amount of methamphetamine in her bra, as well as $5 of the undercover cop’s buy money, court records show.

Snyder was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Judge Todd Kelly on felony and misdemeanor drug charges and lodged in Blair County Prison in lieu of $20,000 cash bail on each of the two cases.

A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner is slated for Aug. 5.
