Public invited to state police day, memorial

HOLLIDAYSBURG – The public is invited to join the state police in Hollidaysburg to mark “Pennsylvania State Police Day” today at the Troop G Headquarters.

A memorial service starts at 10 a.m. to honor all troopers killed in the line of duty, and various state police equipment, including a helicopter and the Special Emergency Response Team gear, will be on display.

After the ceremony, a detail of troopers will go to Alto Reste Cemetery to place memorial flags at the grave of Private Floyd Clouse, who was killed in the line of duty Nov. 2, 1953, in Beaver County. The Troop G Headquarters is located at 1510 North Juniata St. in Hollidaysburg.
