Two nationally-recognized speakers with expertise in sexual education and healthy relationships for those with intellectual disabilities will speak at a workshop scheduled for Wednesday at The ARC of Blair County.

They are: Michelle Garcia of Houston, Texas, a psychologist who works with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and mental retardation, and Beverly Frantz of Philadelphia, a psychologist and coordinator of sexual health and criminal justice initiatives at Temple University’s Institute on Disabilities.

The pair are expected to cover topics addressing puberty, personal safety, Internet and social media exploitation, dating and understanding the law and what constitutes a criminal offense.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at The Arc of Blair County headquarters, 431 Jackson Ave.

Registrations for the free workshop, which is open to the public, can be made through Friday by contacting the agency at 946-1011.
