IRC sets recycling collection date in Tyrone
The Intermunicipal Relations Committee will conduct an electronics, boxes, bags and books recycling collection Saturday in Tyrone.
This will be the first time in several years that appliances containing freon will be accepted.
The collection will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tyrone Area High School. The event will be held rain or shine.
Residents will enter the parking lot near the hospital and exit behind the building.
Freon-containing appliances will be accepted for a $5 fee. All non-freon containing electronics will be accepted free of charge. The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority will be on site to process the freon.
Items that will be accepted for free on Saturday include computers
and accessories, TVs, VCRs, microwaves, curling irons, game systems, printers, fax machines, vacuums, cameras, clocks, radios, laptops and most anything with a cord; all types of boxes and cardboard, books, magazines, plastic bags and shrink wrap.
