Classes training people for emergency response
Those interested in becoming part of a Community Emergency Response Team are urged to sign up for a series of five classes starting Tuesday at the Blair County Emergency Management Agency, 615 Fourth St.
The free classes will cover issues such as how to prepare for a disaster, fire safety, disaster medical operations, community emergency response teams, light search and rescue, terrorism and disaster psychology. All who complete the training will receive a backpack kit with equipment to provide
assistance during an emergency.
Those interested in attending classes, from 6 to 10 p.m. on April 15, 22, 24, 29 and May 1 should contact instructor Tom Robison at 940-5901 or 215-7770.

Another series of classes is scheduled for May 6, 8, 13, 15 and 20 at the
Tyrone Hospital, 187 Hospital Drive.
