Bridge rehabs to continue

Hollidaysburg – Prime contractor George S. Hann & Son Inc. of Fort Littleton will continue work Monday on a two-year bridge rehabilitation contract that will rehabilitate seven local bridges across Blair County.

Work will start on Lower Clover Creek Road in Woodbury Township. This work will require a three-mile detour that will follow Biddle Road to Mill Hill Road. The detour will be in place from Monday until May 30.

The second bridge to be worked on is located on Scotch Valley Road) in Frankstown Township. Work on this bridge will be controlled by temporary signals and work will begin Wednesday.

Work on both bridges will consist of removing the old bridge deck, adding new reinforcement and the placement of a new deck. There will also be minor roadway approach work and guiderail upgrades. Both bridges are expected to be completed by May 30.

Work on three additional bridges will take place during the 2014 construction season. Those bridges are on Weitzel Hill Road in Taylor Township, Rebecca Furnace Road in North Woodbury Township and Rebecca Furnace Road in Huston Township.
