Police: Man died after ‘health issues’ in vehicle
BELLWOOD – An Altoona man died in a Sunday morning car crash after he suffered a medical emergency at the wheel, state police said.
Police said S. Grant Gault, no age given, was driving a Cadillac sedan on Skelp Mountain Road in Antis Township when he experienced “some health issues,” sliding along the guardrail for 300 feet before continuing another 100 feet on the roadside. Gault struck a tree and died at the scene, police said.
Blair County Coroner Patty Ross identified the cause of death as blunt force trauma due to medical complications, police said in a news release.
