Police: Change machine stolen

PHILIPSBURG – Clearfield County residents might want to keep an eye out for criminals spending big at arcades and vending machines after someone yanked a change machine – and its $500 in quarters – from a carwash wall, according to state police in Philipsburg.

Police said an unknown thief, or thieves, stopped at the S&S Combi Car Wash in Decatur Township late Friday or early Saturday, forcibly removed the change machine from an outside wall and fled the scene.

The machine, made by American Changer, is worth $2,400, police said. It contained roughly $500 worth of quarters.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
