Police: None injured in fire

DUNCANSVILLE – A Monday evening house fire damaged a Duncansville house and drew a large emergency response but left its residents uninjured, firefighters and police said.

The fire, at a two-story house near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 13th Street, could be seen flaring from near the chimney around 9:45 p.m. nearly an hour after responders first received the call. The home’s residents weren’t inside at the time, Duncansville Police Chief James Ott said.

Neighbors said a couple lived in the home, with no children inside. The extent of the damage was unclear Monday night.

Firefighters from Duncansville, Hollidays-burg, Allegheny Township and Roaring Spring gathered around the home while police blocked traffic along Route 22. Knots of onlookers gathered and recorded cellphone videos of the response while smoke drifted through Duncansville.
