Troopers find 4-year-old unsupervised after she calls police

CLEARFIELD – State police have charged a 32-year-old Morrisdale man with endangering the welfare of children and possession of a controlled substance after his 4-year-old daughter called police on Christmas morning to tell them she was home alone.

Police said the call came in around 4 a.m. Wednesday, with the girl telling police she was home alone without her parents.

After a lengthy phone call, police said, they determined the location to be along Morrisdale Allport Highway.

Police said when they arrived, they found the girl’s father, who has not been named, “passed out due to his highly intoxicated state” and the girl unsupervised.

He was placed in the Clearfield County jail for a probation violation, and the girl was released into her grandparents’ care, police said.
